Route
➣The flash flood originated by a glacier collapse from north side of Mt Langtang Lirung near Nepal-China (Tibet) border at around 8:37 a.m Nepal Time. This event generated an earthquake like effect, which USGS later classified as "landslide-generated seismic event" of M5.2 magnitude. The collapse triggered a high-speed ice-rock avalanche and debris flow that plunged into the valley below through Lhende Khola, Bhotekoshi, and Trishuli river systems.
➣ Flash flood with debris reached and destroyed Gyirong Port located on the Chinese side of border at 8:47AM.
➣It continued to Nepal through the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa District.
➣It then flowed downstream into the Trishuli River, affecting Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts.
➣ Ultimately, the flood water and debris reached the Narayani River in Chitwan District before continuing into Bihar, India.
