*LORD KRISHNA
> Had 80 sons. 10 sons each from his eight principal wives (ashta patraanis) - Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Nagnajiti (Satya), Kalindi, Lakshmana, Mitravinda, and Bhadra (Shaibya).
>Krishna + Rukmini = Pradyumna (प्रद्युम्न) (eldest son).
>>Pradyumna + Rukmavati = Aniruddha ( अनिरुद्ध)
*Balaram (Lord Krishna's Brother) (Married to Rebati, daughter of King Raibat)
> Sons (2): Nishastha and Ulluka.

Balarama did not participate in the Mahabharata war. As he had trained both Duryodhana and Bhima in gada (mace) fighting he chose to remain neutral. To avoid taking sides, he went on a pilgrimage during the war and only returned on the last day of the war to witness the mace fight between Bhima and Duryodhana.
4.2 KAURAVA SIDE
1. Crown Prine Duryodhana (दुर्योधन): (likely 2 wives: a princess from Kashi, a princess from Kalinga likely "Bhanumati".
>Son (1): Lakshmana Kumara (Killed by Arjun's son Abhimenyu during war)
>Daughter (1): Lakshmanaa: married to Samba, Krishna's son.
2.Dushasana (दुःशासन): He participated to kill Abhimanyu in the war. He was later killed by Dhrishtadyumna, fulfilling his vow to avenge Abhimanyu's death.
>Son (1): Durmasena (Drumasena/Durdharshana).
3.Vikarna (विकर्ण): most reputable of the Kauravas as he was the only Kaurava who opposed the humiliation of Draupadi after game of juwa. On the 14th day Bhim unwillingly kills Vikarna and remembers him as the person who followed his dharma.

*Karna: He as multiple wives. Their names are not revealed in Mahabharata, but it is described that they belonged to Suta (charioteer) community.
Son: Vrishasena, Banasena, Chitrasena, Satyasena, Sushena, Shatrunjaya, Dvipata, Prasena, Vrishaketu. All except for Vrishaketu were killed in the war.
>Vrishaketu: youngest son of Karna. Once Karna's identity as the eldest son of Kunti was revealed, he was taken under the patronage of the Pandavas and received the kingdom of Anga.

GANDHARA KINGDOM
*King Subala of Gandhara: Wife Sudharma. They had many?? children.
>Son: Shakuni (youngest), Achala and Vrishaka
>Daughter: Gandhari (Mother of Kauravas).
*King Sakuni of Gandhara: (he became king of Gandara before the war, as king Subala died.)
>Son: Uluka (उलूक) (renowned as a cunning gambler and messenger).
MADRA KINGDOM
*King Shalya (शल्य) of Madra (Bahlika clan): even though Shalya was brother of Pandu's wife Madri, he joind Kaurava side during the war. He was made Karna’s charioteer and, after Karna’s death, was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Kaurava forces for day 18 (last day). He was killed by Yudhisthir in Day 18. (Shalya Parva, chapter 17)
SINDHU KINGDOM
*King Jayadratha: married to Dushala, the only sister of Kauravas. He played key role to kill Abhimanyu in Day 13. To revenge this Arjun vows to kill him within next day before sunset, and he was killed by Arjun in Day 14.

>Son Suratha. Many years after the war, King Yudhishthira performs the ashvamedha yagna and sends Arjuna to Sindhu. But when news of arjun coming to Sindhu reaches the Suratha, he dies of a heart attack. Arjuna feels bad for Dushshala and installs Suratha's infant son as the next heir of Sindhu and returns.
*PANDAVA SIDE*
PANCHAL KINGDOM
*King Drupada of Panchala: 11 Sons & 1 Daughter (Draupadi)
> Son Dhrishtadyumna (धृष्टद्युम्न): Commander-in-chief of Pandava army for day 1 to 18. He killed Drona in Day 15. He was killed in Panchal camp attack after the war.
>> Dhrishtadyumna had multiple wives and 4 sons: Kshatradharman, Kshatravarman, Kshatranjaya, Dhrishtaketu. First three were killed in the War by Drona, whereas Dhrishtaketu was killed by Karna.
>Son Shikhandi (born transgender, later becomes male after agreeing to a sex exchange with a yaksha)
>Other sons: Satyajit, Uttamaujas, Yudhamanyu, Kumara, Vrika, Panchalya, Suratha, Shatrunjaya, and Janamejaya.
>Daughter Draupadi (wife of the Pandavas).
CHEDI KINGDOM
*King Shishupala (Chedi): son Dhrishtaketu. Daughter: Karenumati married to Nakula (Pandav)
*King Dhrishtaketu (धृष्टकेतु) (Chedi kingdom).
MATSYA KINGDOM
*King Virata of Matsya: he was killed by Drona in the war. He ascended to heaven after his death. Matsya kingdom was founded by king Matsya who was the twin brother of Satyavati (Generation 1).
> son Shankha: was killed in war also by Drona.
VRISHNI (residents of Dwarka)
*Chieftain Satyaki: he was from same clan (Vrishni) of Krishna. He was devoted to Krishna and was a student of Arjuna. He survived the war. But, as Gandhari curses Krishna that his clan will be destroyed 36 years later in a fratricidal massacre, Satyaki dies as well with his clan.
Kunti-Bhoj Kingdom
*Kuntibhoja: Pandavas's mother Kunti was adopted daughter of Kuntibhoja. All Kuntis along with their kinsmen and advisors were killed by Bhisma in the war.
Generation 5
*Draupadeyas: All 5 Pandavas married to Draupadi together. Draupadeyas are 5 sons of Draupadi from 5 Pandavas each. All 5 sons of Draupadi were killed by Ashwatthama during Panchal camp attack.

*Barbuvahana (Son of Arjun and Chitrangada, did not participate in the war, killed by Arjun later, but Ulupi revived him)
*Ghatotkacha (son of Bhim & Hidimbi) (Killed by Karna on the 14th day of war)
> Son (1): Barbarika (from Princess Maurvi, daughter of Daitya Moora.) (sometimes known as Yalambar in Nepal / Khatu Shyam / Teen Baan Dhaari) He always liked to join the weaker side. He was so powerful that whatever side he would take he would destroy the opposite side, eventually switch sides and destroy everyone. Therefore, to avoid this event from occurring, lord Krishna tricked Barbarik to donate his head. Barbarik had last wish to watch the war. So, lord Krishna decapitates his head and placed it on the top of the highest mountain of Kurukhestra. From there, Barbarik witnessed everything in the war.
Kurukshetra War: Members of Kuru clan from generation 2,3,4,5 and other people from the sub-continent fought Mahabharat war.
Panchal camp attack by Ashwatthama (Sauptika Parva): It took place on the night after the Kurukshetra War had formally concluded. Ashwatthama, driven by grief and rage over the death of his father Drona, along with Kritavarman and Kripacharya attacked the Panchal camp at night and slaughtered everyone. Most sons of Pandavs were killed in this attack along with 5 sons of Draupadi. Panchal prince Dhrishtadyumna and Shikhandi both were also killed during this.
After this, only three survivors from Kauravas side (Ashwatthama, Kripacharya, and Kritavarma) retreated to the forest.
Survivors after war:
Kauravas side (3 known survivors)
*Ashwatthama (Son of Guru Drona): he was cursed by Krishna (for his brutal attack on the Pandavas' camp) to roam the earth in suffering, never dying and plagued by the stench of his wounds.
*Guru Kripacharya: was teacher of both Pandavas and Kauravas, and a fierce warrior. He was also a chiranjivi (immortal). He became the preceptor of King Parikshit later.
*Kritavarma: a commander of the Yadava army. Mausala Parva (16) explains the destruction of the Yadava clan. Kritavarma was beheaded by Satyaki during a conflict between the Yadavas.
*Yuyutsu: son of Dhritarashtra who survived the war. He chose to fight on the Pandava side. Yuyutsu remained important courtier during King Yudhisthir rule and King Parikshit rule.
Pandavas side (8 known survivors): the Pandavas, Krishna, Satyaki, and Yuyutsu.
Aftermath
*Dhritarashtra, Gandhari, Vidura, Sanjaya, Pandav mata Kunti renounce the world can and withdraw to the forest. Eventually, they perished in a forest fire, seeking liberation and attaining moksha. Sanjaya survives the fire, and eventually retires to the Himalayas.
*After 36 years of war, Krishna died. According to Mausala Parva (16th parva), in addition of Krishna's death, Dvaraka submersed under the sea, Balarama died by drowning in the sea, Vasudeva died, and a civil war fought among the Yadava clan that killed many of them. This incident caused Pandavas to give up their rule. A hunter named Jara mistakenly shot an arrow at Krishna's foot mistaking for a deer. The arrow fatally wounded him. Hunter realized his mistake and pleaded the lord for forgiveness. Lord Krishna consoled him and told him how his death was inevitable. On February 18, 3102 BCE, Lord Krishna left the mortal world and the time from which Lord Krishna died is considered to be the beginning of Kaliyuga.
*After the War, King Yudhisthir and the Pandavas ruled Hastinapura for 36 years, and then along with Draupadi, went on a journey for liberation towards Himalayas. Draupadi died first along the way, other 4 brothers died mid-way. The ware accompanied by a loyal dog on his journey to heaven. Only Yudhisthir and the dog reached the heaven.
Generation 6
*King (VI) Parikshit (Arjun's grandson): After the war, Ashwatthama launched the Brahmastra at his mother Uttara's womb, targeting the unborn Parikshit. Lord Krishna, recognizing the danger, entered Uttara's womb and shielded the fetus, ensuring Parikshit's survival. He was born after Mahabharat war.
He became King After Yudhisthir as he was the only surviving hair after Pandavas. His rule symbolizes start of the Kali Yuga. He was killed by a snake bite, inflicted by Takshaka.
